Contrast media, a pharmacokinetic problem. Iodinated X-ray media distribute differentially to organs and between normal and abnormal tissue, and are excreted largely unchanged, with a hepatic and biliary route that matters in renal impairment [1]. Iohexol clearance is itself used as a measured GFR [2], and the practical question is the safe interval before the next study [3].
